Information: This is a follow up on
the shooting released last night. The victim is identified as Brandon Banto an
18 year old white male from Absecon. He is in the Intensive Care Unit of
Atlantic City Medical Center City Campus with multiple internal injuries from
a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest.
There
are no suspects at this time and anyone with information is urged to contact
the Galloway Township Police Department at 609-652-3705 ext.310 or 324.

12/13/2011
On
December 2, 2011 the Galloway Township Police Dept issued arrest warrants for
a 18 year old male from Galloway in relation to this incident. The male was 17
years old at the time of the shooting and has been charged as a juvenile.
The
male was charged after an investigation by Det. Sgt Frank Weir with Aggravated
Assault with a Weapon for shooting the victim causing serious bodily injury,
Unlawful Possession of a 9mm Handgun, Poss of a Handgun with an Unlawful
Purpose, Poss of a Handgun during a Drug Transaction, Tampering with Evidence,
Hindering Apprehension, Poss of Marijuana U/50grams and Poss with Intent to
Distribute Marij. Galloway Police were unable to locate the male
On
December 10, 2011 at 7:30pm, an off-duty Galloway Police Detective observed
the male in the Hamilton Mall. The off-duty detective pursued the male as he
fled down an escalator and apprehended him after a brief struggle. The male
was taken into custody and transported to Harborfields Juvenile Detention
Center.
The
male will not be identified at this time due to his juvenile status at time of
incident.
