Incident:   Armed Robbery

Location:  200 Block of Koch Avenue         

Date / Time: Saturday July 14, 11:40 pm.

Victim: Tanisha N. Watkins / Galloway Twp. / 23 y/o female  

Arresting Officer: Ofc. Ronald Gorneau and Squad #1 Officers

Misc: James M. Parrish 21 y/o male from Pleasantville, NJ was arrested by Galloway Township Police and charged with Armed Robbery following a car-jacking that took place in Pleasantville and led in to Galloway Township at approximately 11:40 pm on July 14th.

Parrish was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Handgun for unlawful purpose. Unlawful possession of a handgun. Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Possession of hollow-point bullets. (2) counts of Terroristic Threats to kill. Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute. Possession of a handgun while Distributing a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Galloway Twp Police responded to a 911 call at a residence in the 200 block of Koch Ave, in the Pomona section of the twp.  Police received information reporting a robbery in progress.  It was reported that the victim and a second female (unidentified) gave a ride to the suspect (who was known to them) in Pleasantville.  During the ride, the male, identified as Parrish, produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s cash and jewelry.  The male then got into the driver’s seat and drove both females to the victim’s home in Galloway.  The male demanded the victim go inside and retrieve more cash and valuables.  The male stayed in the vehicle with the second female.  After the victim did not immediately return to the vehicle, the second female was sent to ring the doorbell.  Several officers responded, Parrish was located in the driveway and taken into custody by Officer Ronald Gorneau.  Parrish was found in possession of several pills, several bags of heroin and $592.  After a search of the area, Police located a 22 caliber revolver which was loaded with hollow point bullets near the vehicle. Neither female was injured.  The incident remains under investigation.  Parrish’s bail was set by JMC Freed at $200,000 cash.  He was taken to ACJF.
