Incident Type: Suspicious Vehicle Fire Date and Time of Incident: December 09, 2011 at 06:45AM Incident
Location: 1400 Block of Atlantic Ave. in the South Egg
Harbor section of Galloway Twp. Misc. / Other Related Information: On December 9, 2011 at 6:34am, Galloway Police received a call for a vehicle fire in the 1400 block of Atlantic Ave in the South Egg Harbor section of the Township. A passing motorist stopped to alert the homeowner who then called to report the fire. The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher. South Egg Harbor Fire Company responded to the scene. The vehicle was a 1998 Honda CRV was parked in the driveway to a residence on Atlantic Ave. An unknown actor had removed the gas cap and placed a rag in the gas tank prior to igniting it. The vehicle sustained major damage to the left rear area of the vehicle to include the tire and rim. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective John Kelly at (609) 652-3705 Ext 339.
