Desiree Hill (age 39
of Somers Point) and Philip
Maddelin (age 48 of Mays Landing) have been charged in connection with a
recent rash of commercial burglaries in our county.
On December 13th,
Galloway Twp. Police Department, following up on a commercial burglary in
their town, initiated a motor vehicle stop, in which the vehicle was occupied
by Hill and Maddelin. They were arrested and charged for the crime in
Galloway
.
Further investigation, video surveillance, and evidence provided by
Brigantine Police, Absecon Police, Northfield Police, Galloway Twp. And
Hamilton Twp., led to them being charged with multiple counts of Burglary,
Criminal Mischief, Theft, and Conspiracy relating to the county wide
commercial burglaries. The task force that was formed to investigate the
crimes would like to acknowledge and thank the following departments for their
assistance: Somers Point, Linwood, Hamilton Twp., Egg Harbor Twp., NJ State
Parole, and Atlantic County Prosecutors Office Intelligence Unit.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be forthcoming.
