Im so pleased to release the results of our first full year with the American Medicine Chest Challenge. In 2016 we partnered with Brian Wilson of Join Together Atlantic County in an effort to stop opioid abuse and provide a safe alternative to our residents who had unwanted and unused prescription medication in their homes. We are very proud to say that we have safely collected and destroyed over 713 pounds of prescription medication just in 2017 that could have made its way into the hands of our community members and those who suffer from the disease of addiction. We couldn't have done this without the help and willingness of our residents here in Galloway Township! Thank you all for taking the time to empty your medicine cabinets and do the right thing to improve our quality of life as a community. If we all keep working together we will be doing our part in trying to end this terrible epidemic. For more information on safe prescription medication drop off locations other than the Galloway Twp. Police Department please visit our website gtpd.org and click on the American Medicine Chest Challenge link. We wish you all a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
